Strong Gravity Waves Associated With Tonga Volcano Eruption Revealed by SABER Observations

چکیده
Using the Sounding of Atmosphere using Broadband Emission Radiometry temperature profiles from January 6 to 21 2022, we studied mesospheric gravity waves (GWs) associated with Tonga volcano eruption on 15. We observed that induced strong GWs in mesosphere. Detailed analysis shows there were amplitudes greater than 30 K (twice usual GWs) These have dominant vertical wavelengths 13.9–25.5 km and horizontal speeds 44–81 ms−1, they intrinsic periods (momentum flux per unit mass) ∼2–5 hr (4–320 m2s−2). The but slow here are opposite fast at different atmospheric layers after eruption, stronger other volcanic extreme weather events. Such one can get a more comprehensive picture excited by powerful source.

Global climatological variability of quasi-two-day waves revealed by TIMED/SABER observations
This paper presents characteristics of quasi-twoday waves (QTDWs) in the mesosphere and lower thermosphere (MLT) between 52 S and 52 N from 2002 to 2011 using TIMED/SABER temperature data. Spectral analysis suggests that dominant QTDW components at mid-high latitudes of the Southern Hemisphere (SH) and the Northern Hemisphere (NH) are (2.13, W3) and (2.04, W4), respectively. The most remarkable...
متن کاملModeling Volcanic Eruption Parameters by Near-Source Internal Gravity Waves
Volcanic explosions release large amounts of hot gas and ash into the atmosphere to form plumes rising several kilometers above eruptive vents, which can pose serious risk on human health and aviation also at several thousands of kilometers from the volcanic source. However the most sophisticate atmospheric models and eruptive plume dynamics require input parameters such as duration of the ejec...
متن کاملProbing strong-field gravity and black holes with gravitational waves
Gravitational wave observations will be excellent tools for making precise measurements of processes that occur in very strong-field regions of spacetime. Extreme mass ratio systems, formed by the capture of a stellar mass body compact by a massive black hole, will be targets for planned space-based interferometers such as LISA and DECIGO. These systems will be especially powerful tools for tes...
متن کاملPredictability of Volcano Eruption: lessons from a basaltic effusive volcano
Volcano eruption forecast remains a challenging and controversial problem despite the fact that data from volcano monitoring significantly increased in quantity and quality during the last decades. This study uses pattern recognition techniques to quantify the predictability of the 15 Piton de la Fournaise (PdlF) eruptions in the 1988-2001 period using increase of the daily seismicity rate as a...
متن کاملTsunami wave generation by the eruption of underwater volcano
Eruption of volcanoes represents one of important origins of tsunami waves and is responsible for most catastrophic tsunami (Krakatau, 1883; Thira, BC). The products of volcano eruption include solids, liquids (lava) and gases. The present article presents hydrodynamic model of relatively slow process of eruption, with domination of liquids. The process of underwater eruption of lava causes the...
